The Great British Vape Off

We’ve spotted tons of celebs sporting ecigs recently, whether they’re papped using them in public or lending their faces to campaigns.

Lily Allen is a fan, and Simon Cowell – who reportedly smoked 40 a day – is said to have made the switch. We can even add Twilight star and teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson to the list, making for a Great British Vape Off.

Electronic cigarettes can be used indoors where accepted, giving celebrities and ecig smokers the freedom and flexibility to vape in pubs, restaurants and even in the office – which is maybe why they can add celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Kate Moss, and fashionista Alexa Chung to the fan list.

EntertainmentWise.com reported that Amanda Holden, fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed ‘’Simon does not smoke any more. He’s got a vaporising cigarette instead. He smokes air, or rather water. It’s amazing.”

Cowell is reported to have previously smoked 40 cigarettes a day and has been trying to cut down on tobacco for over a year using a variety of methods including hypnosis.

Celebrity endorsement responsible for the increase in Ecig use?

Prof Britten, the chairman of the RCP’s tobacco advisory group said in The Telegraph:

“The devices are so popular because they deliver the nicotine hit to the back of the throat but also replicate other actions that are so addictive to smokers – having something to hold and the drug sharing behaviours of buying and lighting up.”

Latest figures show 10 million people in the UK who are smoking now, of whom five million will die in the next decade. Of course the message should be don’t smoke, but I think we can add that if you are going to smoke, then try an e-cigarette.’’

If it helped Simon get through the BGT auditions, maybe it will work for you too. You can check our our product range here
